Enugu State Unveils Digital Healthcare Monitoring Platform

The Enugu State Government has launched a new digital healthcare monitoring platform designed to connect patients with medical professionals for remote consultations and continuous health tracking.

The platform integrates wearable devices capable of monitoring chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. These devices transmit real-time data to healthcare providers, allowing doctors to respond quickly to abnormal readings and intervene before emergencies occur.

During the launch at the State Ministry of Health, the Commissioner for Health said,

“This platform marks a major step towards a smarter, more responsive healthcare system. Our goal is to ensure that no patient is left unmanaged simply because they cannot make frequent hospital visits. Technology is helping us close the gap.”

Medical experts noted that the initiative could significantly reduce overcrowding in hospitals, enhance early detection of complications, and improve nationwide healthcare response models if adopted by other states.

With this innovation, Enugu is positioning itself as an emerging leader in Nigeria’s growing digital health ecosystem.
